Racism, sexism, and homophobia are written into the English language we use to communicate and think. We don’t need to list examples of the plethora of oppressive vocabulary here, since that only reinforces the resonance of the problematic aspects of language.

Let’s start the change now.

Thought and word are how we create a world view and social perspective. If oppression is written into the language we use, it affects our thought and reinforces unconscious biases.
